Hi
Dancers,

I started dancing in 1986 at the Old South 40 Honky Tonk at Butler Hill in South County when I returned from living in Europe for 14 years. I danced Country & Western at Little Texas and Incahoots for a long time. Then I started Swing Dancing at South Side. Eventually I started DJ-ing at South Side for 4 years.
In 1997 I started having Sunday Afternoon Dances at the Focal Point in Webster Groves. I played Black Gospel Swing Music---------this dance was a total flop. Then I started having dances on Friday nights there. I went to the Swing Dance Federation and got their OK. My first Swing Dance at Focal Point had 21 dancers. After a couple of dances, the Focal Point was over-crowded with more than 100 dancers.
I discovered Concord Farmers Club in 1998. I made a deal with the President there to rent the Hall inexpensively if I set the Hall up, took everything down and cleaned the whole place after every dance. I did this for months, until JIM'S DANCES on Friday nights became very popular. At every dance, we had anywhere from 250 to 450 dancers there. I gave theme dances like: Disco Night, Rock & Roll Night, the Alice's Restaurant Dance, the Green Olive Dance and more. We had a ball. DJ's Larry Eaglin and Miss Judy Bliss played along with me at most every dance. I brought in other DJ's too, including: Larry and Charley from M.U.S.I.C., Jimmy Bedrosia, Bob and Sherry and Terry James. At the 2nd Anniversary Dance, we had over 500 dancers at JIM'S DANCES at Concord. Because of some intolerable politics there at Concord-------I left. This was unfortunate for all concerned. We had great fun dances there for 4 years-----1998 to 2002.
In 2003, I started Country & Western Dances in St. Charles in 2002. I still give these dances every Wednesday Night at the Moose Lodge in St. Charles. I DJ-ed Ballroom Dances at U CAN DANCE on Sundays for about a year. I love music, love DJ-ing and keeping the dance floor full of happy dancers.
This is the history of JIM'S DANCES.
Hope to see you soon, very soon,
Jim
