My latest work.

A good friend asked me to paint a watercolor of her 3 Grandkids-----a great fun photo.

First I did a drawing to get the work out the forms and eyes:

It was a real joy to do the drawing and painting------very happy kids!

I did the finish Watercolor 13 by 18 inches.  Here it is:

Here is a photo of my good friend, Hoppalong.  He is a 3-legged therapy dog.

Another project is painting a watercolor of a young girl on the beach.   My client gave me a 6 by 8 inch photo; she wanted the life-saver replaced with a starfish.  I made some drawings to place the starfish in her hand.

Here is the finished painting---18 by 24 inches.  I stylized the sea and sky-----eliminated the rocks and other stuff behind her.  I concentrated mostly on the face of the girl, since it is basically a portrait, intensifying the color.   Runs and spots were allowed to stay on the painting-------it looks good in a watercolor.  It kinda reminds me of the Renaissance Botticelli painting of Venus Rising.  It was a fun painting to do and it will look great with a big matt and a nice frame.
