These are just a very very few of the Artists I admire, from Da-Da-ist Marchell Duchamp to Jim Dine to modern day Illustrators.  There are so many wonderful Artists that do and have loved color and wit as I do.  In Paris I studied Gouache Burning Technique with Illustrator, Phillip Keller  and Gerhart Hoehme, a German Expressionist,  was my main instructor at the Duesseldorf Art Academy in Duesseldorf, Germany.

Art for me is: Color, Joy, Happiness, Wit, Sensuality, Clarity, Metaphor, Beauty, Love and More love.  I have studied Art all of my life and every type thereof has had some form of influence on me and my work either subtly or adamantly.   My good friend, Illustrator, Bill Vann here in Saint Louis said, "Jim has the eye of an illustrator and the heart of an Artist."  This is probably the best description of my work that I ever heard.

Really all I can say about Art, without becoming a boring pedant, is simply----

Art is in the eyes of the beholder.  If you enjoy it and your heart is moved, it is Art.  Enjoy it!

Have fun and enjoy my web-site.
